The Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the payment company's adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs, monitoring compliance risks, and conducting investigations as needed. The Compliance Specialist also serves as a trusted advisor to management, providing guidance on compliance matters and helping to mitigate potential risks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance programs aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential risks
  • Implement and maintain appropriate controls to mitigate compliance risks
  • Conduct investigations into potential compliance violations and take appropriate corrective action
  • Stay up-to-date on all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities
  • Prepare and maintain compliance reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Compliance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in compliance, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to payments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
